My mother and sister are trying to re-name the baby!

By the way, as this trip becomes imminent, there is a movement afoot to change my names! Really just the girl's name.. My mother is obsessed with the name Maura-- she will be happy if anyone we know names a baby Maura.. Personally, I like the name Maura, but I knew a Maura years ago and the name is now ruined for me for all time. My sister came up with a nice idea: since the baby will be a Christmas baby in a way (I go to court Dec. 23rd), so she suggested the name Noelle, which I think is very pretty. After 9 months of calling the baby Niamh or Daniel, will the baby really be named one of those names? Noelle would make the issue of spelling a whole lot easier..

Noelle is very pretty. It starts with an N so it's kind of close. Okay, maybe not.

A friend of mine was born on Christmas and her parents named her Christa Noelle because of it.

I think either name will be great just make sure it is a girl first! By the way, don't listen to Mom.

My sister is in adopting from the same agency as you. I just found your blog and I am so excited to follow your journey. In fact I think we were at the same picnic in the summer but did not meet.

You might have looked it up but one of the meanings for Noelle is "birthday"...when I read that I thought how meaningful as your court date will be the "birthday" of your new family and life together.

Have a safe wonderful trip, thanks for sharing your journey so my sister will be able to learn from your experience.

I can not wait to hear the good news of your baby!!!

I have always been partial to Noelle. It seems very elegant. I hope your preparations continue to go well! See you in Kazakhstan!

Personally, I really like Noelle and Daniel. Maura and Niamh are pretty rarely used these days. Click each name in my post to see its current popularity around the world on the Baby Name Map.

I LOVE the name Noelle. If we were adopting a girl that's what her name would be. Go for it!!!

I'll be thinking of you on Monday—it must seem all so surreal right now.

My niece is named Aliese Noelle because she was born in late December.

They are all beautiful names. Perhaps have 3 or 4 in your pocket, and then when you see her face you will know!

I can't believe you're leaving!!!

Noelle sure is pretty. And it would save a girl from a lifetime of spelling her name out for everyone.

The name Chloe wasnt even on our list for a year. It got added on the trip over and guess what name she got...! So there is something to said about add-ons. You;ll know when you see her what her name should be. Cant wait to see her (or him)

Noelle is very pretty! I also like Holly for a girl born around the Christmas season but if I had to pick it would be Noelle - it sounds pretty and feminine.

Take it from a woman who named her child Kieran and spelled it Ciaran...the easier it is to pronounce the better it is. Ciaran was actually Declan until just a few weeks before he was born. You will know the name when you see your child....good luck...Anne told me we should be hearing something soon...it's very exciting!!!
